For years people have been spraying all sorts of toxic chemicals all over their garden to get rid of pests. The problem is that people are now realizing it's not good for the environment and it's also not good if you have kids and pets. The great thing is that there are now lots of different options available to you. One of the options is to introduce garden-friendly bugs to your garden including the following:-

Ladybirds - Everyone loves ladybirds, largely because they are really cute. However there's a lot more to ladybirds than just than their pretty looks. You can buy live ladybirds and release them into your garden. They are a fantastic way to get rid of aphids, whitefly spider mites and lots of other things. To help them out in the winter you can buy a ladybird house for them to winter in.

Nemetodes - These are simply tiny worm-like creatures that you put into the soil in order for them to eat various pests such as maggots, fire ants and weevils. They can easily be purchased online or from garden centers and then sprayed onto the soil.

Earthworms - Worms are great for the soil due to the fact that they eat through vegetation along with harmful fungi and bacteria and in the process turn the it into a form that is better utilized by plants. In addition to this they will help your hard soil to be broken up and allow oxygen in. If you want worms in your garden then you can buy a wormery kit or start a compost heap.

Hopefully you will now realize the benefits of working with nature rather than against. It would be great to live in a world where there are no toxic chemicals used and this is one way you can help. In addition to garden-friendly bugs, you should also look at companion planting as a great way to keep down the levels of pests in your garden.
